Shaftesbury Arts Centre Art Group

Shaftesbury Arts Centre Art Group is a small practical group, meeting at 2pm on Monday afternoons in the Phoenix Room to enjoy painting. We welcome all levels of skill in all mediums.

During the year we have tutors in various mediums and aspects of painting. We have an exhibition once a year in the SAC Gallery and opportunities to join other exhibitions in the gallery at certain times of the year.

Spring 2024

• 15th April – Paint or Draw something that caught your eye during Easter.
• 22nd April – Richard Corbett will tutor the group on Abstracts in Mixed Media.
• 29th April – en plein air. If the weather is not good, bring your own Still Life.
• 6th May – Bank Holiday. No workshop.
• 13th May – Richard Corbett tutors us on Acrylics in Seascapes and Landscapes.
• 20th May – Please will everyone bring their own knowledge & experience, books and examples of people painted in street or landscape scenes.
• 27th May – Whitsun Bank Holiday. No workshop.
• 3rd June – En plein air, if we have good weather. If not create a garden picture.
• 10th June – Joint topic.
• 17th June – Gold Hill Museum and Gardens.
• June 24th – Your own work. Last workshop of the Summer Term.
