At this time of year there will also be innovative crafts and gifts, such as hand-stitched books, jewellery, wrapping paper, handprinted aprons, Christmas decorations, etc to help fill Christmas stockings.

This joint exhibition brings together the unique visions of two artists deeply inspired by the natural world.

Claire Godfree, a multi-disciplinary artist, delves into the rich tapestry of British folklore through an evocative exploration of birds. Her works weave myth and nature, reflecting the symbolic significance of birds in British storytelling traditions.

Complementing this, ceramic artist Ruth Readman presents her sculptural works inspired by the rugged beauty of the Dorset landscape. Her ceramics capture the textures, forms, and quiet moods of the countryside, offering a tactile connection to the region’s timeless beauty.

Together, the exhibition invites viewers to experience the intersection of myth, nature and place, with each artist bringing her own narrative to life through her chosen medium.

The Gallery Team welcomes entries to ‘The Spring Open’ from artists of all ages.

Art made in all disciplines (except film) on the theme of SPRING is accepted as long as it fits the requirements for display. You can find full details and important dates HERE.

Entries open on 1st January 2025 and close on 26th January 2025 unless the number of entries reaches 120 before that date. Once open, access to the entry form can be found HERE.
