The interests of artists are catered for by the Art Group that meets regularly for a varied programme of work in any medium chosen by its members.
Crafts exhibitions are a regular feature of the centre’s gallery, and workshops in crafts such as pottery are supported through nearby crafts centres.
Dance and keep fit classes for a variety of ages and tastes are organised on various days by different groups. Whether it’s gentle keep fit, traditional English dancing, or relaxing yoga, we have something to suit all tastes.
The centre supports a strong drama group for both adults and young people and has a year-round programme of both amateur and professional productions.
An international programme of top quality films for all ages and tastes is shown for most of the year through the centre’s extremely popular and highly thought-of film society. A small independent community film-making unit also operates at the Arts Centre.
From live rock, blues, jazz, folk and you-name-it gigs by visiting professional musicians to workshops on classical music, the centre aims to appeal to every age and musical taste.

The needs of literature lovers are catered for by a poetry group run by published poet Pam Kelly, Viv Rudd’s long-established reading group, and a creative writing group led by Cuca, Beth Stewart and Becky Bye.
