Event Details

Do you have a talent you’d like to share with the world? Do you love singing, telling jokes, a little bit of magic, playing a musical instrument, dancing, tumbling? The list is endless. If the answer’s yes then ‘Take a Bow’, Shaftesbury Arts Centre’s talent competition is absolutely for you.

All you have to do is to record a video of yourself showcasing your talent and send it to us at takeabow@shaftesburyartscentre.org.uk between Wednesday July 1st and Sunday 26th July. Our judges will then review the entries and shortlist five performers from each category who will appear in the final. The final will be either a ‘live’ Zoom event or an open air, socially distanced gathering (date to be confirmed soon)

So go on! Have a little bit of fun and join in with us for our very own talent competition – ‘Take a Bow’. It will be great to see you there! We are aiming to share all of the entries via our Facebook page and website following the close of the competition.

Competition Details

There are three age categories:

  • 7–11 years
  • 12–18 years
  • 19 years +

Prizes

The prize for the winner of each category will be £50 in Shaftesbury Arts Centre vouchers, which is redeemable at the box office for tickets. There is no cash alternative.

Rules

  1. Your talent can be anything and it can be completed as a solo entry, or a group – as long as it is appropriately social distanced.
  2. There is no time limit, although we would suggest that your performance is no longer than 3 minutes.
  3. No professionals can enter the competition.
  4. The judges’ decision is final for shortlisting and deciding the overall winners.
  5. You will NOT receive confirmation of your entry and will only be notified if you have been shortlisted once the judges have reviewed all of the entries.
