Event Details

Please email to book a place.

A movement work shop for anyone who can sit and stand; walk in time and imagine-exploring ideas inspired by the music in order to produce a performance piece.  During this workshop, two movement pieces will be worked on with a wet weather contingency.

  • 2m is further than you think, music Ravel’s String Quarter.
  • A bit of fun, music Penguin Café: “Telephone and a rubber band.”

This is not dance so warm up should not be required. If you wish to be energetic and flexible as part of your interpretation, warm up in time for the start.

Viewing of videos taken during the workshop can be arranged. Viewing cannot take place as part of the workshop.

Wear what is comfortable and allows you to move. Wear black if you can if not bold uniform colours. Please bring additional uniform bold coloured tops, socks and gloves, rain coat and hat (wet weather contingency)

Please also bring with you:

    • Chair you can carry (a camping or other folding chair would be suitable).
    • Tape measure (2m minimum).
    • A cardboard box.
    • An umbrella (wet weather contingency).
    • Footware can be anything you like except high heels. Bear in mind that it is outside so delicate footwear should be avoided. You can wear wellies if you like!

This workshop will be run on Castle Green (appropriately socially distanced of course).
